Brookings Concrete, brookingsconcrete.com, quotes@brookingsconcrete.com

Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Brookings Concrete website and any estimate or work you ask us for. By using the site, contacting us or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You can still reach us at (605) 401-5479 with any questions about these terms first.

What we do

Brookings Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Brookings, SD. We pour driveways, patios, sidewalks, garage floors, steps, footings and foundations, and we do decorative and stamped work, retaining walls, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You can see the full list on our home page and read more about our crew on our about page.

The descriptions on this site are general. The exact work on your job, including size, thickness, finish and materials, is whatever your written estimate or signed contract says.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free and done in person, and asking for one puts you under no obligation. We look at the site, the base under the old slab and where water drains, because those decide most of the price.

An estimate is our best figure for the work as we saw it on the day. If we find something once the old concrete is out, like soft or wet ground, buried debris or a base that needs more digging, we'll stop, explain it and agree on any change with you before we do the extra work.

Nothing on this website is a price quote. Your price is the one in your written estimate or contract.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We set your start date with you when you accept the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour if rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat would weaken the slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call or reach us through our contact page as early as you can. Once materials are ordered or delivered, or the crew is on site, you may owe for the materials and work already done, as your contract spells out.

Payment

Payment amounts, any deposit and due dates are set in your written estimate or contract. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may pause further work until it's settled and use the remedies South Dakota law allows to collect what's owed.

Your part of the job

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything buried that we might not know of, such as sprinkler lines, drain tile, septic parts or private wiring. You're responsible for knowing where your property lines are and for any rules your homeowners association sets.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens to full strength. Please keep foot traffic, vehicles and pets off it for as long as we tell you at the end of the job, because using it early is a common cause of damage.

Warranties and what concrete does over time

We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it. Any written warranty is the one in your signed contract, and it covers only what that contract says.

Concrete can get small hairline cracks even when it's poured well, which is why we cut control joints, the grooves that give it a place to crack neatly. We don't warrant against hairline cracking, slight color differences, or damage from de-icing salt, heavy loads beyond what the slab was built for, ground movement, flooding or misuse.

Apart from what your contract states, this website and our services are provided as they are, without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Brookings Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway while it cures, or for damage to buried items you didn't tell us about.

Our total liability on any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that South Dakota law doesn't allow us to limit.

Using this website

The text, photos and other content on this site belong to Brookings Concrete, and you may not copy them for commercial use without our permission. We try to keep the site accurate, but it may have errors or be out of date, so please confirm details with us before you rely on them.

Links to other websites are there for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Settling disputes

If you have a problem with our work or a bill, please call us first. Most problems get sorted out on site, and we'll try in good faith to settle it with you directly.

If we can't agree, either side may take the matter to the courts in Brookings County, South Dakota, including small claims court where the amount qualifies.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time by posting the new version on this page. The terms in place when you sign your contract are the ones that apply to that job.
